Teaching

In our teaching, we combine digital formats with in-person learning in innovative ways. We integrate knowledge with forward-looking teaching methods in a meaningful and solution-oriented manner. 

Our teachings in complementary and integrative medicine are aimed at students, health professionals, as well as patients. We prepare all learning content in a practice-oriented and target-group-specific manner. Our teaching methods include approaches such as flipped classrooms, tandem and peer teaching, serious games, and the integration of generative AI.

Our courses are often embedded in teaching–research projects.

In our student teaching, we place a strong emphasis on interprofessional education in order to foster collaboration among health professionals early in their training.

For health professionals who wish to pursue further training in the field of Mind Body Medicine, we have been providing the “CAS in Health Psychology, Lifestyle Change and Mind Body Medicine” annually since 2018, together with the University of Zurich’s Department of Psychology and the Swiss Association for Mind Body Medicine.

Our scientifically evaluated KOKON-KTO training is part of the certification course “Integrative Medicine in Oncology” offered by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Gynäkologische Onkologie e.V. for physicians working in oncology.

The KOKON-KTO training was developed to train oncology physicians to conduct consultations with their patients to provide appropriate recommendations regarding the use of complementary therapies in cancer care.

This training was developed and positively evaluated as part of a study within the Competence Network for Complementary Medicine in Oncology (KOKON). The project was funded by the German Cancer Aid and the Günter and Regine Kelm Foundation. We provide the easy to implement trainings materials.
