Digital Twins: Prepared for the Future
Artificial intelligence (AI) will revolutionize prevention, diagnosis, therapy and processes in the healthcare sector in the coming years. In this context, in the “Strategy Lab” of the Digital Society Initiative (DSI) at the University of Zurich, we worked with experts in a systematic process to investigate how the responsible use of AI in medicine can be ensured.
Case studies, goals and recommendations
The four case studies developed by the Strategy Lab highlighted the impact of AI on medical practice, with the Digital Twin emerging as a key future development. A Digital Twin is a virtual replica of a physical entity, such as a patient, that uses real-time data to simulate, predict, and optimize health outcomes and medical interventions.
The Strategy Lab has developed goals and recommendations to guide the responsible use of Digital Twins in healthcare.
