Anna Katharina Tietjen has been pursuing her PhD in the PhD program Clinical Science at the Chair since March 2024. She completed a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Molecular Life Science (University of Lübeck, Germany), including research stays in Boston, Birzeit, and Hamburg. In addition, she obtained a Master of Public Health (University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom). Throughout her studies and during her international research stays, she was funded by a scholarship from the Evangelisches Studienwerk.
After completing her studies, Anna Katharina Tietjen worked as a study coordinator at the Institute of Inflammation Medicine at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (Lübeck, Germany), where she gained experience in clinical research (Phase I to Phase III trials). She subsequently worked as a research associate at Hannover Medical School (Hannover, Germany) in a digital health project.
She now contributes this expertise to the research project ICanSelfCare at the Chair. ICanSelfCare is a randomized controlled trial evaluating an online course for cancer patients experiencing fatigue or sleep problems. Within this project, she is pursuing her PhD on adherence to digital interventions. Her research focus lies on quantitative methods.
